AOMA誷 OBT diploma enables students to apply for national certification through the American Oriental Bodywork Therapy Association (AOBTA). The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) is currently developing a national examination for OBT graduates that could become the basis of state licensure. Currently, licensing laws differ by state. Texas state law requires practitioners of Oriental Bodywork to be trained and licensed in Swedish massage in order to practice. Recently, the Academy has formed an affiliation with the Lauterstein-Conway School of Massage (TLC) which will allow (depending on the availability of space) our students to study Swedish massage and several other subjects required by the State of Texas at TLC. In this way our students can meet the training requirements set forth by the state in order to sit for the licensure exam. Call our administrative office for further details.
