Physical Therapy includes examination, treatment,
and instruction of patients to detect, assess,
prevent, correct, and limit physical disability,
dysfunction, malfunction, and pain from injury,
disease, and other bodily/mental conditions. This
3-year entry-level professional Doctorate program
uses a holistic approach and interdisciplinary
cooperation to produce graduates with a strong
foundation in critical inquiry, research, administration,
and clinical problem-solving skills. As this degree
is entry-level, the prospective student may have
their bachelors in any field, provided all admisssions
requirements and prerequisite coursework are satisfactorily
completed. A masters degree is not required to
enroll in the program.

The Institute of Occupational Therapy offers
a Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) as a first
professional degree to those candidates who have
completed a bachelor's degree including the required
prerequisites. An entry-level or first professional
Master of Occupational Therapy Degree program
differs from an advanced MOT Degree in that the
former is designed for individuals who graduate
with a baccalaureate degree in a discipline other
than OT and who have completed coursework appropriate
to entering an OT program. Upon graduation, you
are prepared to take the national licensure exam
necessary to practice Occupational Therapy.

The goal of this program is to prepare a physiatrist
(physician specialist in physical medicine and
rehabilitation) in the expanded roles of clinician-researcher
and clinician-administrator. Students in this
program will primarily be residents in physical
medicine and rehabilitation. The curriculum will
enable graduates to function as competent practitioners
in the care of persons with disabilities. In addition,
it will develop core competencies in the areas
of medical rehabilitation research and rehabilitation
